Almost there, now !!

On Tuesday, December 6, we received an email from the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou informing us that processing of our "Article 5" had been completed and a copy had been delivered to our adoption agency's representative. (Wow, this is the first time we have actually received info on our progress by email. In the past, we had to wait for letters to be sent/arrive.) This paper and several others we completed earlier were express mailed to the adoption authorities in Beijing that day. And so, now we are waiting for our "travel approval" which we have been told usually takes 2-5 weeks to receive. Once we have that approval, we can start planning our trip. With the U.S. holidays at the end of this month and the Chinese New Year beginning on January 23, 2012, it's going to be interesting seeing how quickly we can actually get to China. But it's now reasonably sure to be in either January or February. Things will get more finalized over the next few weeks...and we are definitely ready to get going !!!
