Well, it seems that everything must have been running a little too smoothly and we weren't "panicky" enough.
We've been spending the day packing and taking care of all those last-minute details, getting ready for tomorrow's pre-dawn beginning to our latest Chinese adventure. And then, we receive an Email from our adoption agency. After having our itinerary "finalized" for more than 2 weeks, and all of our in-country flights and rooms reserved and paid for....the powers-that-be in the Civil Affairs Office of the Heilongjiang Province (where we will be adopting our new daughter) have decided that we can't come to the province until January 31. Everything has already been set for us to arrive on the 30th and get Victoria that day and at the VERY last minute the officials decided to change things. The travel agency our adoption agency works with in China is working to get us an extra night at our hotel in Beijing and to change our flight to Harbin to the 31st. But what's still up in the air is what happens to our "timeline" after we finally get our daughter. Hopefully, Heilongjiang will be able to get us Zhen's passport a day quicker than usual so that several other appointments / flights don't have to be changed, too.
Deep breath.....:-)
